Have A Very Merry Christmas

Oh, it is the most wonderful time of the year! As I slow down my work schedule to spend time with friends and family I am reminded of how blessed I am. My life is truly a bounty of wonder.
May each of you have a joyous season!

Super Secret Good News

Such a tease. Such a naughty, naughty tease. I've got good news coming... I've heard a few bits and pieces but like a number of writer's I am a bit superstitious.

So I can't tell.

At least not yet, but as soon as the rumors of good news become fact due to handshakes and signatures and the dotting of 'i's' and the crossing of 't's' then you will know.

What about you, dear reader? Have you gotten any good news lately? Leave a comment, spread your good news good luck around!

Oooo! I love good news!

The New Project

Today, I start on the new project. I can't say much, because, well, for me talking about a project before it feels solid somehow disturbs the momentum. Kind of like a pressure cooker, you don't take the lid off if you want whatever is inside to come out cooked. I have to keep quiet about the new stuff until the characters have manifested and the story has assumed some sort of globby gelatinous state.
Enough food metaphors for you? Okay, off to write.

Finished

My absence can be explained. I *finished* the new manuscript. Well a draft. And it's been sent to my beloved Beta readers. Thank you, thank you, a million thank yous my beauteous Beta readers! They will now read, slice, and dice my latest draft. I hope that their fresh eyes will give me a fresh perspective on the story, the plot, and the characters. Then one more pass (fingers crossed.) And then...off to my agent.

A preview:

“Albie Hecht,” Sonia Valdez shouted in her thick Brazilian accent, “you are the biggest prick on this planet!” She clutched Sprinkles, her Chihuahua, to her over-enhanced cleavage.

“Well, if I’m the biggest prick what does that make you? Perhaps the biggest c-”

“Hey!” Tulsa held up her hand and stopped her client from continuing. There were certain words she definitely didn’t need to hear in the offices of her law firm. Divorce, no matter the pun, was meant to be a civil procedure.

“Let’s keep it courteous, shall we?” Tulsa said and eyed both her client and his soon to be ex-wife. But even with her and opposing counsel’s attempts courtesy had as much probability of thriving in this divorce settlement as a rose in a dung heap. Civility and her best friend courtesy walked right out the door when Sonia caught Albie in bed with his newest girlfriend.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, leave a comment.
